Notes on data protection on Facebook

It is not sufficiently known which data Facebook stores in detail and how the company uses this data. However, it is well known that Facebook does not only store data that is entered directly by users. In addition, Facebook users' actions are also recorded - possibly without gaps.

Facebook also learns

  • the most important data of the computer system from which a user logs into the network - up to the IP address, processor type and browser version including plug-ins.
  • every visit to a website that has a "Like" button installed. The IP address is also transmitted. If the visitor is a Facebook user and has already logged into Facebook from the same computer, Facebook can also determine their identity.

This enables Facebook to investigate the preferences, likes and dislikes and contacts of its users very precisely and beyond the use of Facebook.
